Haridwar – Gateway to Land of Gods

After steping into the city of Haridwar you will be welcomed with the Sounds of the temple bells and the religious chanting of the priests. Haridwar has a religious importance as the holy river Maa Ganga enters the Indo-Gangetic Plains of North India for the 1st time in the Haridwar City in Uttarakhand .  Most important event is the Kumbha Mela, which is celebrated every 12 years in Haridwar the City in Uttarakhand.  Thereby making its former name ‘Gangadwara‘ perfect in every sense.

Har Ki Pauri is a ghat on the banks of river Ganga. A center place of attraction among devotees in Haridwar, Har ki Pauri is believed to be the place of exit of holy river Ganga from the mountains.Country’s famous Ganga Aarti takes place in the area Brahmakund in  Har ki Pauri, a sacred Place where people believe that the nectar (Amrit) felled on earth. Biggest fairs of Hindu’s, Ardh Kumbh also takes place at Har ki Pauri.

Haridwar is famous for it’s Ganga Aarti and Har ki Pauri. Ganga aarti means worship of Maa Ganga. Many people visit this place for Ganga aarti everyday (Daily). The priest at Ganga Ghat holds large fire bowls in their hands, the bells in the temples at the Ganga Ghat start ringing and the chants of mantras flowing out in the air. People float diyas, with flowers on Ganga. The lighting diyas on flowing Ganga looks so beautiful that cannot be expressed in words. It is a very fascinating experience to participate in the Ganga Aarati performed in the evening at Har Ki Pauri. The place is famous for its Ganga Aarti.
